Despite the recent frustration Elon has received from the crypto community for causing the environmental FUD, outside of crypto, he is seen as a pioneer in the electronic vehicle and space industries... he is involved in those industries far more than in crypto... so he is not going away and there is no reason to expect his popularity to decline.

His most recent talks on bitcoin reveal that he owns both BTC and ETH personally --so we can always hope that he might be more careful in the future with his public comments now that everyone has seen the effect of his environmental comments on the market.
