I would not be able to commit a sentence such as the above to memory, and then use it later on in a text I wrote. Perhaps you copied the paragraph as a reference, and intended on rephrasing the essence but forgot to do so. Nevertheless, mods will not try to infer the “making of” procedure, but rather observe the outcome.
Now plagiarism here, as I figure you may know, is not so much a pointer to respect the authorship of the original writer, as it is to avoid people thinking the text was written by you in your own words.
Everybody reads and comments or posts content read on external sources, but to avoid any confusion, and even to risk incurring in plagiarism by forum’s standards, one needs to include a reference to the source of the derived information, especially if it is closely related in some wording.
