I think it all depend on the person. Being greedy could really go down a person but others are not. They tend to get more lucky than everyone else that instead of going down they tend to become successful. This is why I believe that failing down still depend on the individual. There are lucky individual out there.
Greed has always been the downfall of most individual you'll consider lucky in cryptocurrency. They might have been lucky for been among the set of individual that profited from a certain trend like Defi but due to greed loses it all or majority of it in another hyped trend like meme coins investment. One thing they all have in common is they feel invisible after a sudden success. They allow greed to get the best of them and usually that ends badly.
In the human race greed has always had the same outcomes, so don't understand what you mean by individual here. For those you think were been greedy but later came out as their best decision, if you look at it very well they must have had their risk calculated and they weren't actually been greedy but just taking a calculated risk that worked.
