doesn't sound very practical on coin launch... nor for solo mining... (put that way, you can't even choose what to mine...)
Good point! Haven't thought about that... was just thinking about a way to get Christian the tribute he deserves. The voluntary donation approach doesn't really work I suppose, but most of us here would gladly contribute to his great work. That's why I thought built-in fees would make all of us happy...
You can't really force people to donate, they will always find a way around that. The best thing to do would probably be a donation flag in the miner, hard-coded pool and user credentials. Then the miner could mine x rounds over y time.
He said he got a whole bitcoin last week or something like that, so the voluntary thing works well I believe.
