I first heard of it when I friend of mine said(jokingly) that he could get anyone assassinated for 6BTC on silk road. I asked what it was and he said that it was an online currency that nobody uses. I googled Bitcoin..I have not slept since.

A unique story, first time I heard about bitcoin is 2015, at that time there was an article on the forum discussing the faucets program that paid with bitcoin, at that time I tried many faucets and ever earning a total of 0.32 btc in a day (winning the lottery) with the current value around $75 (price ;)bitcoin around $214)
