Player who has a year left in his contract and doesn’t want to stay with the club... But still has a ton of value in the transfer window. There’s only one move: Sell. By January those clubs bidding for him now would just wait for a few months to get him for free.

Every time that some big star (or not) who has one year contract, doesn't want to renew and wants to join another club, I wonder the same thing. What can you possibly get as the present club from him, if he wants to go? Simple nothing. There is no logic for PSG not to sell Mbappe and I'm a bit surprised that they didn't seal the deal already.

Maybe Mbappe really doesn’t want to leave but just wants more money from PSG. Neymar prolly has better wages than him and prolly wants that. We’ll find out how it all pans out and what’s really up by January. But I’m pretty sure big clubs are already watching.

That could be possible but I think a while ago there was a report that PSG would do anything to keep Mbappe. He was also offered a better contract a while ago and was offered a better deal than Neymar according to reports ^[1] . And he has told that he doesn't wants to sign a contract and wants a fresh challenge ^[2]. What you said is a pretty good trick for the club to push and give them an enticing offer but in case of Mbappe I hardly think so. He is young and so wants a change.
