As far as I can see, BitcoinTalk's forum is not radically different from other online communities. I don't understand why some newcomers are obsessed with forum rules?
Respecting each other and respecting differing opinions is the most important principle of any social community.

You shouldn't necessarily be obsessed, mostly people just need to know that plagiarism is a huge offense here(rightfully so). Along with that, just don't do anything stupid and shady and you're pretty much good. If I remember correctly when I was new here I didn't even see the rules topic after a few months.
