You are free to buy and sell with whomever you want, and if there happens to be a monopoly of some kind you are free to start your own business, and voila, the monopoly is gone.

Looked to me more like pointing out the manipulation going on. The Shadow system has those that hate it the most fighting the only entity that can exact change into stagnation. Those that crave pure profit at the expense of the rest are pulling the strings and this is one way they are achieving their goals.
