Good wives/husbands do not allow a family to break up because of any addictions of one family member. Such problems need to be solved together because a gambling addict is not able to cope alone. If the family is falling apart then it is likely that there are more serious problems within the family than gambling addiction.
Getting your point and I consider that, but once there's already some serious issue with gambling addiction that will continue to haunt you and your relationship with your family.
You have to consider that problem like this are hard solve alone, but it's more on the side of the person who's experiencing the problem to step more in resolving this problem, with determination and willingness the family will cope up and solve it together.
Our last resort would be our family. They will be the ones who will care for us the most. It might be too hard for us to resolve gambling addiction but we can rely on them as our strength. We should keep in mind that we'll have them no matter what happens but let's also consider their welfare. We should also be strong enough to handle our hardships to keep our family. Money and wealth will be nothing if we'll have our family broken.
