Not only total supply, total supply is only one caused shiba inu not reaching $1. Shiba inu need legit vision and real use cases like other top altcoin. So it will build trust to retail investor not only whale who willing to dump it when the hype happen.
And it's because of the unclear vision that Shiba Inu can only dream of being in the $1 price tag, because building a vision and developing a product to put it to real use is much harder than building a new project and spawning a meme coin like the Shiba Inu.
