I have thought that one key advantage crypto (bitcoin, litecoin, Dash, monero etc.) has over gold is that its supply level is fixed and transparent, but can this or features make crypto more valuable than gold?
To see the value or not really depends on the final value, currently gold has stability compared to crypto itself, moreover gold-based investments are even more leverage and able to minimize risk, but this really depends on the person.
Currently, the times provide many choices for people to invest, be it crypto, gold or others, it's just that this opportunity really depends on everyone who is able to maximize it, if the one I mentioned is the best choice to invest.
In general Crypto can be more valuable than gold itself, but only on certain coins, not all altcoins currently on the market.
