It's true but I wouldn't follow this way to store my SEED. It adds nothing to SEED security but impose the treat to SEED itself. Everything may happen and if at least one character in the four-letter-combinbations were missed or corrupted somehow you would be screwed. IMO, to be on safe side it's always better to preserve all characters pertaining to  words from SEED.
