That can happen, but people don't ignore or overlook people intentionally unless there is a good reason for that. If you or she feel like she has good posts that haven't been merited, tell her to take a look at the Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source thread. She can report her own content or you can do it for her. Merit sources often browse look there in search for posts that deserve to be merited.
