It's certain that it won't determine the championship... because City still have to play everyone twice, and so can take six points off each team. They can even take three off Spurs in the return fixture.
But it could still be quite costly. Last season was a bit of an anomaly, where the title winning team lost six games. Normally in recent season the league winners have only lost around three games all season.
