Holding is better than trading. If you buy Bitcoin, and hold it from 2017 to 2020 or 2020, you get profit.
If you buy Bitcoin in 2017 and trade it in 3 to 4 years to 2020 or 2021, I am not sure you will have profit now. If you use margin trading, I believe your orders would be liquidated many times in 3 or 4 years.
Don't take risk and practice margin trading. You will end with empty hands.
Holding was better than trading for a long long period, no second opinion about it. But you shouldn't expect the same exponential growth over the next 10 years which we saw in the previous 10 years because the market gets saturated and settles down. I think if between 2017 to 2021 you do a survey, the results might be like 5% of people knew about BTC in 2017 but in 2021 almost 25% of the population knows about it.
I am not talking about accurate numbers but trying to show that the popularity graph for almost any asset will be high in the initial few years then it slows down. Hence trading might is the more viable option in current situation.
I think Holding is still an option no matter what. Obviously you are right about market saturation and it's negative impact on the investments, but it is not true with the crypto market. The crypto market which is widely known as volatile market with limited coins to spare, this market will never saturate. I am speaking in terms of BTC only which is perfect example of limited supply, high demand and perfect asset/store value. If these conditions are right then why it won't go up in the future? It could have easy exponential growth due to its characters. Take example of gold for that matter It's ever growing as the supply depleting over the period of time. Same thing goes with
BTC.
If liquidation occurs then that's because someone would be buying the orders and some of them would be selling. This will go on forever mate.
