Holding is better than trading. If you buy Bitcoin, and hold it from 2017 to 2020 or 2020, you get profit.

If you buy Bitcoin in 2017 and trade it in 3 to 4 years to 2020 or 2021, I am not sure you will have profit now. If you use margin trading, I believe your orders would be liquidated many times in 3 or 4 years.

Don't take risk and practice margin trading. You will end with empty hands.

I agree with you, trading can make us a decent profit but there is a huge risk to actually lose money in the meantime. I tried trading and investing and must say that for the time invested into trading, the profit I managed to get wasn't really great. With just holding the same coins and not trading so often, I would have made a little lest profit  but didn't have to constantly watch the market. In the end it depends on what kind of person we are and if we can handle the stress.
Once again this is a problem of expectations, trading can be and it is more profitable than investing, however the difference is not going to be massive, the real difference gets noticed years or even decades down the line, after all if we use compound interest we can see that even a small difference in the percentages can produce massive differences in the results, but the majority of those that are choosing to become traders want to see huge profits now and that is something really difficult to achieve.
