Don't buy just any coin during a dip though. I mean there are times when a coin is becoming useless and the price is falling and no way you want to buy such a coin or token. It's better to understand why a particular coin is dropping and if you cannot find a solid reason, maybe it's worth buying because it is just the random drop that happens with every crypto.
I like trading on good coins because the risk is less. Like bitcoin, eth, and BNB. even though the price of the coin is already high, this coin can still go higher. It was proven when I bought bitcoin at $30k and now bitcoin has gone up to $50k
Technically yeah there is a smaller chance of losing money on coins with a high market cap but then there are also smaller chances of earning because the growth gained by an unknown project would be much higher than the growth happening in these giant market-cap coins.
