This is a lame theory now, New Zealand was over confident that they sent a weak team, when Australia toured Bangladesh this year and not that long ago in August, they had the same fate as they struggled miserably against Bangladesh and you think that the New Zealand selectors were sleeping when that happened  .

 New Zealand sent the best team possible and they struggled against Bangladesh and full credits to Bangladesh for showcasing that kind of dominant performance rather than sugar coating the pathetic performance of New Zealand by saying they were overconfident in sending a weak team .
