Why future? It's already an effective financial tool in the present so I don't exactly think that it's going to be any different in the future. For me, the only thing that will change in the future is that there will be more people that's going to use bitcoin and the prices are definitely much higher than the last time.
1 thing which can make it more effective is that where merchants in your country stats to accept the bitcoin as a payment, that will help people to buy/sell anything using bitcoin which is currently mostly in fiat. Some countries are still not made it a legal tender and some have banned it. So once we have a wider countries making it a legal and accepting it bitcoin would be more changing hands.
