i thought it absorbed water or something. even with fuel stabilizer it wont last really. hate it as i keeo a good reserve of gas for the generators, as much as i rotate and try to blend old and new i have found gas thats iffy when used. and thats NOT want you want to hear in your genset powering your house after a disaster.
may go with phils idea and buy a new genset that runs both LP and gas, i think there may be retorfit kits too,, unsure.
Yes, basically that. If you can find a place that sells ethanol free gas, I recommend that. It's all I put in my small engines anymore.
As to generators, diesel is kind-of the gold standard. The fuel is stable and cheap and easy to store and in a pinch, you can often use things like vegetable oil. I'm not sure of the regs but you might be able to use farm diesel too.
