Glad to see that the Italian team came back down to Earth after winning the Euro 2020 championship.
Still it is impressive to notice Mancini's achievement: this was the 36th consecutive positive game for a national team (only Brazil did the same).
The game was fairly balanced, I imagined it could have ended in a draw but I was not expecting a lack of goals. Worst scene of the game? Jorginho's penalty!
The next game on Wednesday against Lithuania becomes crucial for securing the qualification.
Italy played a good match against Switzerland, and if the penalty had been converted, it could have scored 3 points. Switzerland did not look bad either, and perhaps a draw is a natural result for this match. I also didn’t expect the match to be without goals, but I think it’s because Switzerland was trying to play more more careful than usual. For Switzerland, the result of this match can be considered more than acceptable, to play in a draw with the European champions is a good result.
