A Blockchain wallet?  Make sure this isn't a Blockchain.com wallet which is prone to different issues upon purchasing crypto to their bank/credit card account.  The web wallet isn't good for storing your crypto and I suggest a single wallet upon storing your asset ort much better if you will choose a hardware wallet which is also supported altcoins.

The rest of you're concern was stated above, if you don't know how this cryptocurrency works, don't hurry upon investing.  You need to understand first the possible circumstances that waiting ahead.  The word risk is in crypto, understand risk might help for a productive profit.  If you'll understand, you'll see the difference.
