GameStop was dropped from the s&p 500 index in 2016.
GameStop was in the S&P 500? I didn't know that; I thought they were a NASDAQ stock, but I just checked and they're not. Shows you how much I know.
In any case, there's no way they're going to get back into that index. There are mutual funds that track the S&P 500, and I'm pretty sure none of them want to own GameStop stock--and rightfully so. That stock was heavily manipulated by the retard traders on r/wallstreetbets to squeeze the short sellers, and that's the
only reason why it's worth as much as it is. Their business sucks, their business model isn't keeping up with how gaming is changing, and they're going to be the next Sears or JC Penny pretty soon. Just watch; their stock is going to drop eventually and probably to zero. The short sellers were right to short the stock.
