It is great news really, McDonald's is literally the biggest food franchise in the world and the fact that they have bothered to set up infrastructure to accept a cryptocurrency leads to a very bright future for Bitcoin. They are pioneers in many ways and if they see it as a successful way to accept money, then they will surely roll it out in other countries as well. This will be great at encouraging other large food outlets to start thinking about accepting it, as they are often copied by places like KFC and Burger King in short order. This is on par with Tesla and Paypal news that they were starting to support different forms of cryptocurrency payments - really is groundbreaking.
