Unless you want to be able to predict the prices in future then you can study technical analysis and fundamental analysis. This could be useful if you would like to be able to know the right time to make your investment and went to sell. You just have to understand how the market really works that way you will know when there is greed or fear and went to take actions. Knowing technical analysis will also help you if you decide to go into day trading later on.
