Cardano (ADA) is scheduled to upgrade its existing network they call it the Alonso Hard Fork. The biggest upgrade of this cardano has
privileges capable of facilitating smart contracts on its network. If the cardano smart contract really happens
do you think cardano will be able to become a rival to bitcoin, ethereum and binance?
Your opinion its appreciated in this discussion.  Smiley

It could become a rival on Ethereum and BNB, but not on bitcoin because the competition is only among the altcoins in the altcoins market. Bitcoin will always lead the market, hence it will stay at the number 1 position, and there's no threat that it will be dethrown by any altcoins even ETH which are currently sitting at the number 2 in overall standing.

That's a great job by the devs, the way to compete with ETH and BNB is to have a smart contract too.

Charles Hoskinson believes that there is nothing to compete with bitcoin and compared it with " guy who was a football star in high school but is now washed up and with a beer belly.” He don't want to compete with laggard and consider ETH as the major rival of Cardano. I keep thinking that competition between ADA and ETH  will do both good.
