Bitcoin is risky if you want it to be, consider Bitcoin as a long time investment and constantly dollar cost average in by investing just some and not all percentage of your salary monthly and in years to come you would not regret making such investment.

Do not consider Bitcoin a get rich quick platform or you will be the one that will end up getting scammed. When you try trading or short term investing that is when it would seem like what you just described.
