Oh indeed, Djokovic was the favorite for everyone. I talked to so many people, I was myself bloody certain he is going to go for the 21st Grand Slam title, and yet Medvedev got in his way. And seriously I just watched his gesture again, that gesture was just peaceful and in no way disrespectful. He even had a double fault to 40 : 30, imagine his pressure. No, that gesture isn't something I'd particularly dislike about his match.
Djokovic with high pressure, yes, every no.1 player will get it, it's just how can he manage it, if he frequently gets it, it's not the problem. However, during the match, Djokovic did not seem to be the no.1 player. Medvedev, who should be under pressure, play with relaxation, and going too easy to get 3 sets straight. Djokovic got pressure on himself (his obsession for 21 champion). he must play enjoy without a target.
Djokovic has the experience to overcome the pressure he was getting. It is always normal for top players to be under pressure in these circumstances. Because everyone is wanting you to win right? But Medvedev played like he had nothing to lose. But you also have to take it under consideration that Djokovic doesn't sin every single game, he is also a human. He will have games where he doesn't perform as per his level. But I was so wanting that Djokovic wins the game.
