Most of the short term traders aim for daily profit so when market conditions are not decisive will lose some assets and try their luck another day I agree there is no need to trade every day but wait for the right opportunity to make higher profits than the target day trader.
It is true that you don't have to trade everyday.
If there's no need to trade and most of your trades are not good enough, then do it the next day.
