I also believe OP’s decision will also be “the cause” for other people around his place to become more curious about what “this Bitcoin” is and research about it on their own. Many of them will join with greed in mind, but the others will stay for the movement. 
Curiosity would always be there and these kind of steps or movement is really helping out to spread the awareness of bitcoin existence which is really giving out that positive effect because adoption could increase more if there would be more merchants would consider on accepting or integrating bitcoin as a payment.
Good to see that it is already available on some places on where they could really make use of their coins to buy up gadgets and sadly it isnt really still possible here on my place
but i wont be surprised that soon there would be one.

Curiousity, then Greed, then HODL.
It’s a very familiar path for me, and I believe it will be a familiar path for EVERYONE in Bitcoinland. They might be continuing in trading shitcoins, but the reserve currency for HODL will always be Bitcoin. Shitcoins are for ponzis/scams, Bitcoin is for science.
