This is a scheme that's a bit similar to the lottery in that it punishes people who aren't good at math.

Obviously none of those wallets are ever going to be cracked and it's likely that the people selling them (originally) are the owners of the wallet who have encrypted it with a password longer than the private key, so any attempt to crack it is probably less likely than if you were just to try and crack any address with no wallet info whatsoever. 

A lot of people are making money off scamming newbies under the guise of offering them this opportunity to waste their computational power.
