People always look for excuses, that's how most people's brains were conditioned to work. It's just easier to blame a loss of funds 'on crypto' than admitting to yourself and others that you made a mistake.

The only scenario where one cryptocurrency might be at fault would be the one where it had a native security bug which caused all of its users to lose their funds for example. Even then, it'd be partially your own fault because you probably got an untested shitcoin instead of making an informed decision with calculated risk and realistic expectations.
