Speaking of the effect of 3-point shots today, I don't know if you remember this but just take a look back at how these 3 players thought of the same thing by positioning themselves outside the arc waiting for the ball (link). It's funny because anyone of them could have chosen an easy layup or an open dunk to tie and extend for an OT. Just an unbelievably dumb play 
I never seen that picture but I would have been heated if I was the coach. I mean cmon that's elementary school in to realize fill the paint and lay it up. Go to ot and fight it out. I mean did the entire team layover on the under on this game
