Do you consider Bitcoin(or cryptocurrencies) in general a social movement? If you consider so, social movements need a formal organization to support the movement. Is there a formal organization behind Bitcoin?

I think it is more like a religious, Bitcoin is more than a social movement which is why we do not need a formal organization to back Bitcoin up. Beside having a formal organization that will just centralized the whole process and that is what Bitcoin is trying to eliminate, the need of a centralized system in the finance industry.

Bitcoin achieve all it has without having any support from the government and now it is too loud to be ignore which is why the government are now behaving like they care. We went this far without their support and we can achieve more greatness without been backed or regulated.
