All was good till I arrived at this part:
According to Maiquetia airport director Freddy Borges, the airport plans to accept many cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Dash and Venezuela’s oil-pegged digital currency, the Petro. He said that the airport’s administration would introduce new payment options in coordination with Venezuela’s National Superintendence of Crypto Assets and Related Activities.
So, it must be a joke or somebody came drunk at the job, what to accept, a dead coin with both the official site and block explorer dead and no working wallet?
As hyperinflation and USA sanctions disrupt Venezuela economy, cryptocurrency is emerging as a way to provide services handled elsewhere by the traditional banking system. It has become a tool to send remittances, protect wages from inflation and help businesses manage cash flow. Good news really.
And if is magically helping protecting wages paid in bolivars from inflation and businesses, why do they still have inflation?
Venezuela could even adopt bitcoin as a legal tender, you will still see inflation as you need more goods than you can produce, the prices will still go up, Bitcoin is not able to singlehandedly compensate for the stupidity of the ones in charge, Madurao and his pack of imbeciles would bankrupt country with whatever standard gold, silver, bitcoin or oil.
If only fixing an economy would be that simple!
