There are a few companies you can apply for a crypto-backed debit card which you can reload through their wallet app, eg. OWNR wallet, and they send it to you though shipping.

For stuff like rent, they are also less sketchy than using gift cards most of the time. Most reservation places accept debit cards anyway.
very interested in this, but I'm not interested in KYC, do they require KYC? if so, are there any non-kyc alternatives?

The ones I mentioned all require KYC. However there is one bitcointalk service I use that will send you a physical debit card to your address for about 1000EUR and works with nearly all services (it is denominated under one of their staff's name): Anonymous crypto-loadable debit card - No KYC - Private Card Services

(don't try to use it for cloud computing services like AWS, it'll link but they may/will close your account for "proof of address")
