Scammers are everywhere. I don't know why people seem to exaggerate stories about scamming when they hear crypto currencies are involved. I mean they start acting like scams like those would not have happened if crypto currencies didn't exist. People scam using fiat money too. In fact, I think most of the scams are done using fiat currency.
I guess the police were able to get to that scammer because he used crypto currencies (his transactions became traceable). If he has used fiat, he probably would have escaped without any issue.
High tech crimimals are the problem of the 21st century. Just because crypto is the cherry on top of technology right now and threatens the position of fiat so governments and medias tend exaggerate it. You don't see governments tackle the drug problems in Latin American seriously and the media treat it like a normal thing everyday. But when some cunt did something bad in crypto, news about it everywhere "oh no big bad crypto did it again, everyone should not using it!". I'm also tired of their bullshit.
