The current look of the standings is really interesting. Real Sociedad are the leader now but they have an extra game played though. Still, it proves how much good they are perfoming in this season. If they manage to keep this effort and performance up till the end, they can end in top 3 places in the worst case I believe.
same thing happened last year where they started pretty good throughout the first half of the season but failed in the end to maintain a qualifying spot for the champions league, but this year could be different since we see Atletico Madrid, Barcelona doing bad this season, Sociedad could make it and qualify this year, they have good chances to be in top 4.
Real Sociedad performance this season have been impressive. And I hope they can be able to maintain their performance to the end. Although, they have won the La Liga just twice, and it has been quite long they last won (1982). Anyway, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid haven't been in their best form, but they may recover and probably take a nice position on the standings. While, Real Sociedad have a home match to play against Athletic Club tomorrow, although I don't think it will be an easy winning for them. But, they have to play carefully, as they are just 3 points ahead of Real Madrid currently.
I think facing Athletic Bilbao will give a positive result for Real Sociedad and return to being the leader of the standings until next week, Sociedad will be very easy to get three points against Athletic Bilbao, but on the one hand Madrir will also play unseeded teams Elche and Madrid it is very possible to get the full three points on this trip. If Sociedad fail to win they must be in second place if Madrid are able to get three points from Elche.
