I am not sure that people would even think first about their portfolio when the internet dies or just went non-existent for a while. Just imagine those entities inside the internet when they even shutdown for a while. Let's say.... Google.
It greatly affected the internet traffic. Recently even Facebook going down for around couple of hours, people went crazy in Twitter.
