Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that someone out there is now trying to make BTC transactions accessible even without the internet.

So far, it requires dedicated hardware which isn't cheap. Bitcoin would remain alive, but only people who have such hardware on working condition and electricity who could use Bitcoin.
