I'm hearing a lot of people talk about how BTC will prevent wars and play a significant role in discouraging international violence, but I'm not seeing any evidence of this. What baffles me is the notion that Bitcoin can put a halt to international violence in the short term. What does it take to put an end to wars? Natural resources are held by some countries that another country may seek; how does BTC minimize the desire of Country A to invade Country B in order to get Country B's resources? As a result of its inherent inclination to persecute local "heretics" and enforce the will of its leaders on foreigners, BTC can help theocratic states combat these tendencies.

It's just that I'm not seeing a link here. Do you think BTC might have had a role in preventing the Iraq war? What happened during the Vietnam War? What about the Rwanda genocide?
