No sympathy for Pandya here. Even if there is no truth in the rape allegations (which I doubt), he doesn't have any excuse in smuggling luxury watches. Pandya purchased the watches in the UAE and brought them to India without paying the import duty at the airport. A poor third world country such as India can't afford to have people like Pandya, who refuse to pay the due taxes. I hope he will get punished for this, although most likely he will be let off with a warning thanks to his political connections. And let's not forget that this is the same guy who suggested the Indian team to take the knee at the world cup. Imagine this, a tax evader advising the team on how to react against racism in the United States and at the same time refusing to pay taxes in India.
This is a very casual attitude from such a big player who has played lots of cricket and has traveled a lot. He is in news for rape allegations and he must be very careful with everything rather he opened another case. He must be punished for such casual behavior, which is bringing shame to Indian cricket.
