In Asia, except for India, I think most countries' economies are struggling and they have bigger problems to solve and that's why cricket comes later in their mind. And also the politics in the cricket board has big effects on the team. Because I have seen in Bangladesh domestic cricket that the team which has more powerful owner wins against the team having low budget. And it causes a big mental effect on the players as they know that there is no point playing this game because they are going to lose.
Its not only the case with cricket but in every economically struggling country sports are downgrade in terms of priorities. So its nothing new that in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri lanka cricket is not getting due attention of authorities and politics have major influence over the game. Cricket teams of Sri lanka and Bangladesh need quick repair else they may lose there test status.
