PoW is more favorite than PoS because people look at those PoW projects and think that they have some input resources so coins must have more solid price than PoS coins.

PoS coins have price and cost for investors to start with but after that, they only need Cloud or Internet connection to connect their nodes to network and get staking rewards.

People will think PoS is a less solid proof of sustainable and survival of a project. However, in the future, I think the trend will be mixed between Proof of Work and Proof of Stake or Proof of Creation. Proof of Work will be important part to maintain solid intrinsic value, Proof of Stake or Creation will help to reduce pressure on Earth and electricity power supply.
