I installed Metamask extension on another device in my home and did the import using secret recovery phase to login and it asked to create a new password, why new password needed and why cant I use my previous old password?
Password is being used to locally encrypt your Metamask secret recovery phrase, so if you are using Metamask on other devices, you are required to add a new one.
Okay I logged back in and see my settings are not synced and my metamask looks like it has gone back to default settings with all the networks that I originally added on my 1st device that I used 1st time to create the metamask wallet is all gone.
The
secret recovery phrase does not hold your networks and settings configurations. It is only accountable only for your private keys(master key). And Metamask does save your settings locally on each device, so every new device will have the default Metamask settings.
How do I sync my metamask wallets between different devices so metamask settings & networks are synced?
I don't think there is a simple way to sync your Metamask settings, as of now. So, the best you can do is to manually add a new configuration on other devices.
