From my own personal experience throughout the years, investing long term is waaaay better than trading. I know a lot of people think of compounding percentages and technical analysis when considering trading, however they are deluding themselves. Compounding percentages go both ways, if you make a loss, it will be harder to make a profit with which you regain your loss. And technical analysis is basically bs. Nobody can see the future or what is going to happen. So trading is basically gambling with the hope that you discover a "pattern" which helps you predict something.
