There is a great alternative to centralized VPN based on servers. This is called p2p or dVPN - decentralized VPN - which    combines the best features  of an uncluttered TOP and a regular VPN. I use ^Mystereum   which has  nodes  scattered all over the world, no written logs and  encrypted traffic. When you are in bed you don't pay. You pay only for the traffic via exit node of you choice.
