Is a well-founded complaint also likely to be considered spam? Honestly the community prefers it if your customers have only one place to voice their complaints in this forum without censorship. If your thread is set to self-moderate, those complaints will spread to other boards especially scam accusations.

One more thing, self-moderated threads will greatly reduce your credibility as a public service. You don't have to worry about trolling, you're not the only one who can moderate threads. Just report them.
