It is no surprise that the champion didn't change. Maybe FIA would have decided that Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton would share the championship. But it would have been really awkward at the same time.    I heard some time ago that Hamilton didn't want Mercedes to object to the final decision once more. It looks like Mercedes cared about his personal opinion. They should already have known that the final decision wouldn't change from now on. If it did, it would happen after the first objection.
