So does that mean that since there are some exchanges who get their data on prices of cryptocurrencies and market caps, they’re all going to be affected at the time this thing happened? Which means that the price of bitcoin must have likely increased on these exchanges?

Although I know that wouldn’t be a problem because if it happened, all these exchanges would quickly lock down or prevent any further trading on their platform. Some of these hackers are quite funny and they like to create unnecessary scenes on the Internet. Why would anyone be hacking coinmarketcap.com just to pump the price of Bitcoin up? So, I’m guessing that they might have done it for fun?
